Properties & Attributes:  This is a natural, well-polished stone from a volcano in Indonesia. This material is top grade, as it has a good orange hue. This Bumblebee Jasper is a recent find, and supplies are limited. It is also known as Mustard Jasper. This stone is the product of a hydrothermal deposit at the mouth of a semiannually drowned volcanic vent. It’s a mixture of high levels of silica in primary opal and acidic solutions that dissolve the volcano’s wall rock and percolate sulfur from the belching, still-active fumarole, and other minerals. These have been depositing for a few hundred thousand years at this high mountain vent. It is then Opalized, and silicate sulfur is also used. My source adds that as many as 15 other minerals color the blend, giving rise to the gorgeous plumes you see in these crazy, pretty cabs.
